As you may know, CompAlliance is URAC accredited for Case Management. I recently participated in a Case Management Advisory Group that reviewed the proposed revisions to the Case Management Standards. We met twice weekly from April through May. This was quite an undertaking and I do believe we were able to add clarification as to the applicability of these standards in the workers’ compensation setting.

The Advisory Group has completed our review and now the Standards are out for review by the public. Why change a good thing? I know for the applicant companies in particular revisions to standards can cause quite a lot of stress; you were successfully accredited with the prior standards, and now you will have to look at the revised standards and decide how to incorporate these changes as you seek re-accreditation. The rationale for updates according to URAC is to remain current with trends and industry best practices.

URAC is seeking comments on the revised standards.
