An initial timely contact is made only with the referral source to clarify the specific goals for the referral. All medical records pertinent to the referral are reviewed, including all operative and therapy reports, and projections by the treating physician as to functional capabilities.
A detailed analysis of these records is performed by the vocational case manager to assess the injured worker’s future appropriate functional capabilities, job skills, etc. In conjunction with the Hypothetical Employability Evaluation, a Transferable Skills Analysis is completed. This report can provide information for the referral source to assist in making informed decisions as to the next steps in case resolution.
