Here are the class descriptions for this week’s (July 14 & 16) yoga classes:
Tuesday, July 14: Engage to Release
We focus on the safe stretch formula: engage, align, stretch to build awareness and keep our muscles safe during our yoga practice or any other stretching regimen. Our focus will be on the large muscles of the low body: hips, glutes, hamstrings and quads.
Suggested props: block, stool or chair to “raise the floor higher”
Thursday, July 16: Backbending Basics
One of the secrets to backbending is opening the front of the hips and quads along with the upper chest and shoulders. We’ll move through poses that open those parts of the body culminating in a backbend best suited for your body.
Suggested props: block, stool or chair to “raise the floor higher” and a towel or strap
